Born in Dallas, Texas, Julie grew up in a family that always valued giving back to the community. Growing up with an older sister who suffers from learning disabilities and Multiple Sclerosis, Julie has always been very aware of what life can be like in the presence of adversity. She has a strong desire to help others, and is very excited to be able to do so as a Board of Director this year for Children Helping Children.
After graduating from Indiana University with a B.A. in Journalism, Julie found herself in Atlanta to pursue an Art Direction education from portfolio school, The Creative Circus. Throughout her career, Julie has worked on award-winning campaigns across mediums and clients — from heart-warming campaigns for The Home Depot and Publix to innovative campaigns for Toyota and Costa Rica Tourism Board. Regardless of the assignment, it is Julie’s passion to help companies achieve their goals with strong strategic creative, and is excited to bring that drive to Children Helping Children. She is currently the Group Creative Director for local design and advertising agency UTÖKA, and was a driving force behind the new look for CHC last year.
Julie lives in Reynoldstown with her husband Yoni, who is a real estate entrepreneur and amateur chef. Julie and Yoni began getting active in the Atlanta philanthopic community through volunteering as members of Junior Committee for Shepherd Center, a cause they are still supportive of, as well as other local causes close to their hearts. They are happy to have found another wonderful organization to support, in Children Helping Children.
