Sherry is a mix of her mom’s southern heritage and her dad’s northern roots. Raised outside of Philadelphia she got to see firsthand the power of her community and the compassion of people helping people. This lead her to want to do more for others.
Since attending college at Georgia Southern University, Sherry has lived and worked in Atlanta in the Advertising & Marketing industry for the past 17 years. She produced the first ever TEDx Atlanta event and went on to produce several other high-profile events as well. Sherry has worked with numerous Fortune500 companies such as Coca-Cola, FedEx, and Charles Schwab. She currently works at Utöka, the creative agency partner for CHC.
In December of 2011, just two months after Sherry married the love of her life, Mario, they faced their greatest challenge as a couple when Mario was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer called Ewing Sarcoma. Now, nearly seven years later, her husband is thankfully cancer-free. Sherry knows Mario’s journey to recovery could not have been achieved without the enormous support of their family and friends. Their experience epitomized the power and strength of community and truly showcased how the seemingly impossible can be overcome when people come together to help those in need.
Having received so much love and support throughout her life, when asked to join the Board of Directors for Children Helping Children, it was an opportunity she could not turn down.
